The SC range is our most flexible and serviceable design, which can handle virtually all applications. It is field repairable by those with vacuum filling capability.
Most general specifications on Halar coated Chlorine application:
Temperature Rating: 100ºC
Pressure Rating: Up to 4 000 kPa but not exceeding flange rating
Mounting: Direct
Instrument Flange Material: CF8 Stainless Steel
Bolting: DIN A4 (316 Stainless steel)
Fill Fluid: Silicone Oil
Fitted with a Vibragauge® which is our premium product. It is designed to resist high frequency low amplitude vibration/pulsation. A variety of build features are used, including, but not limited to, movement damping on input and output shafts, and inlet restriction.
Glycerine filling is the traditional way to counter vibration. It damps the movement of the tube, and lubricates the movement. There are areas where glycerine is not suitable, normally applications on strong oxidizers such as chlorine, oxygen, peroxide and nitric acid.
Another problem with glycerine is the hassle in recalibrating filled gauges. They have to be drained, rinsed and dried before being worked on.
Having said that, our Vibragauge® remains glycerine fillable, and the combination of Vibragauge® build and glycerine filling is we believe the toughest available protection.
MORE ABOUT THE VIBRAGAUGE®
The Pressure Gauge For Vibration Problems
The answer is in the “VIBRAGAUGE ®” the specially designed movement which slows down the fluctuations of the pointer spindle thereby preventing the above conditions from causing rapid wear on the quadrant which gives greatly extended life and cost savings in the long term. It can be considered as a suitable alternative to Glycerine filled instruments. The “VIBRAGAUGE ®” is available in all our bourdon tube gauges. If you have had trouble finding the answer to this problem specify “VIBRAGAUGE ®” – the economical solution. Independent tests have proved that it works.
VIBRAGAUGE® has been specially developed to meet the problem of excessive vibration which is the biggest single contributory factor in limiting the life of the instrument. It also helps to protect against the problems associated with rapid surge or loss in pressure and trying to obtain an accurate reading from a fluttering pointer.

What are the functions of a VIBRAGAUGE®?
VIBRAGAUGE® is a registered trademark for a type of equipment used in industrial applications, particularly in the field of preventive maintenance and condition monitoring. The functions of a VIBRAGAUGE® typically include:
1. Vibration Monitoring: One of the primary functions is to monitor vibrations in machinery and equipment. Vibration analysis can provide valuable insights into the condition of rotating machinery such as motors, pumps, compressors, turbines, etc. By detecting abnormal vibration patterns, maintenance personnel can identify potential issues such as misalignment, imbalance, bearing defects, or mechanical looseness.
2. Data Collection: VIBRAGAUGE® systems are equipped with sensors and data acquisition capabilities to collect vibration data from various points on the machinery. This data is then processed and analyzed to assess the health and performance of the equipment.
3. Analysis and Diagnostics: VIBRAGAUGE® systems often include software for analyzing vibration data. This software utilizes algorithms and diagnostic tools to interpret vibration signatures, identify fault conditions, and provide recommendations for maintenance actions.
4. Condition Monitoring: By continuously monitoring vibration levels, VIBRAGAUGE® systems enable condition-based maintenance strategies. Rather than relying on fixed schedules for maintenance, condition monitoring allows maintenance activities to be performed when they are actually needed, minimizing downtime and reducing maintenance costs.
5. Alarm and Alert Systems: VIBRAGAUGE® equipment may include alarm and alert systems to notify operators or maintenance personnel when vibration levels exceed predefined thresholds or when abnormal vibration patterns are detected. Early warning of potential issues allows for timely intervention to prevent equipment failure or damage.
6. Historical Data Storage and Trend Analysis: VIBRAGAUGE® systems often store historical vibration data, which can be used for trend analysis and long-term performance monitoring. By comparing current vibration levels with historical data, maintenance personnel can track the progression of machinery health over time and anticipate future maintenance needs.
7. Integration with Maintenance Management Systems: Some VIBRAGAUGE® systems can integrate with enterprise asset management (EAM) or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to facilitate seamless maintenance workflows. This integration enables automated work order generation, documentation of maintenance activities, and tracking of equipment performance metrics.
Overall, the functions of a VIBRAGAUGE® are aimed at optimizing equipment reliability, maximizing uptime, and reducing maintenance costs through effective vibration monitoring and analysis.
