What is a Combination Gauge?
A combination pressure–temperature gauge is a single instrument that shows pressure (bar/psi) and temperature (°C/°F) on one dial. It uses two independent sensing elements—typically a Bourdon tube for pressure and a bimetal or gas-actuated system for temperature—each driving its own pointer and scale. One device, two readings, zero guesswork.
Typical applications: boilers and hot-water systems, HVAC/refrigeration skids, compressors and pumps, heat exchangers, hydraulic test benches, and general plant utilities.
Why Use a Combination Gauge?
-
Two readings at a glance: Faster commissioning, rounds, and fault-finding.
-
Fewer leak paths: One process connection instead of tees and a second gauge.
-
Space-saving panels: Ideal for compact OEM equipment and retrofits.
-
Lower installed cost: Less piping, fewer fittings, shorter installation time.
-
Better diagnostics: Seeing temperature and pressure together helps identify flashing, cavitation, sub-cooling, or air entrainment.
-
Industrial durability: Available in stainless cases, glycerine filling, and vibration protection.
What We Need to Place Your Combination Pressure–Temperature Gauge
Send us the checklist below and we’ll recommend a fit-for-purpose unit immediately:
- Process medium: water, steam, air, oil, refrigerant, chemicals (for material compatibility).
- Pressure range: normal and maximum; units (bar/psi). Note pulsation or overpressure.
- Temperature range: normal and maximum; units (°C/°F).
- Dial size: 63, 100, or 160 mm (readability vs space).
- Connection: ¼” or ½”, BSP/NPT; bottom or back entry.
- Mounting style: direct mount, panel mount (U-clamp), surface mount, or front flange.
- Wetted parts: Brass/Bronze or SS316 (recommended for corrosive media).
- Case & window: SS304/316 case; glass or polycarbonate window.
- Liquid-filled or dry: glycerine-filled for vibration; dry for stable, clean services.
- Accuracy class: e.g., ±1.6% (pressure), ±2% (temperature) or as specified.
- Service conditions: ambient temperature, vibration, wash-downs, IP rating needs.
- Options: snubber/restrictor, isolating needle valve, drag/set pointer, thermowell (for high temperatures/steam), siphon for steam, or remote mount/capillary.
- Quantity & delivery location: to confirm stock and lead time.
Quick Installation Tips
-
For steam, use a siphon and/or thermowell to protect the sensing elements.
-
Mount at eye level, away from vibration and radiant heat where possible.
-
Use thread sealant sparingly—do not block the gauge orifice.
-
Spot-check during maintenance; replace if damaged, drifting, or unreadable.
